The CACHE Level 3 NVQ Children's Care Learning and Development provides a National Vocational Qualification for candidates who work with children aged 0-16 in settings or services whose main purpose is children's care learning and development.
- This course is aimed at people who are working in schools in the classroom supporting the teachers and pupils during learning activities. It consists of 10 units, 6 of which are mandatory and 4 optional which are tailored to suit what you role is. The mandatory units cover health and safety, child protection, promoting relationships with adults and children, supporting learning activities, reflective practice, behaviour management and working within teams. The majority of the course is assessment based in the workplace, so learners must be in paid employment or working voluntary for at least 16 hours in a school, in a classroom environment.
- This course is for people who have little or no knowledge of how to use a computer. It goes into Health and Safety issues, the basic components and how to use them, definitions - a simple explanation of the most common words used in computing, discriptions of popular programmes and how to gain mouse and keyboard skills, using simple exercises. To give a basic introduction to the internet and how to set up their own e-mail account.

How do I find out more?
This qualification aims to: -
- enable learners to develop basic skills in textiles
- provide learners with underpinning knowledge of the craft process for textiles
- provide learners with a basis for progression into further study in textiles
The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to: -
- develop a portfolio of work in textiles
- use materials, tools and equipment correctly and safely
- develop an understanding of Health and Safety considerations surrounding textiles
There are 3 mandatory units:-
- Unit 1 - Explore available resources to develop basic textiles skills
- Unit 2 - Explore and develop textiles ideas creatively
- Unit 3 - Create, present and review final textiles item(s)
There will be opportunities to develop skills in surface pattern and a variety of constructed and stitched textiles techniques, or to specialise in one, along with the functional skills in English, maths and ICT needed.
